Arizona Stone Presents Travertine Pavers

We’re incredibly proud of the products we provide, and we love our business so much, we can’t help but get excited when we find something new for our customers. That’s why we’re happy to announce our new line of Travertine Pavers, now available for purchase at Arizona Stone.

Travertine is a form of limestone that is deposited by mineral and hot springs. It can usually be spotted by its signature pitted holes in its surface. These holes occur naturally, but as time goes on and the limestone is exposed to the wear and tear of the outdoors and different climates, the holes may become more prominent.  A versatile stone, travertine can be smoothed down and used as tiles for flooring, or even a unique countertop or backsplash.

Because of travertine’s abundant uses, it can be used in countless areas around the home. As a natural stone, it can be used for paving patios and garden paths. Since it can be smoothed down and used as tiles countertop or flooring, it's actually often sold as marble, even though it isn’t. Like we mentioned before, travertine is technically a type of limestone, not marble, no matter which way others may try to buff it.

This popular natural stone has been around for years, with evidence that it was even used ancient Rome. Romans mined deposits for travertine to be able to build the aqueducts, bath houses, even amphitheatres that we visit the remains of today. In fact, the Colosseum was constructed with travertine, making it the largest building in the world built with the stone. Italy continued to be a popular place for mining and distributing travertine, practically dominating the market.

In fact, only recently have other countries like Iran, Mexico, Peru and Turkey become known to distribute the popular stone. And that’s something that we’re definitely happy about!

We get our Travertine quarry direct from Turkey to ensure you get the best quality stone in the industry. Not only do we make sure it’s shipped direct, but our Travertine is Quality Controlled before you buy it, making sure the product that we provide our customers is top quality every time.
